  Neon tube tester comes supplied in a protective pouch and is used for testing neon tubes.

If the Cold cathode/Neon tube does not illuminate on zapping the side of the tube or touching the electrode wires you know the tube is faulty, its as easy as that. Remove the faulty tube and link it out in series with H/T cable so that you can leave the working tubes illuminated during the repair of the faulty neon tube.
